TEAMSTERS LOCAL 25 ENDORSE GOVERNOR
PATRICK AND
LT. GOVERNOR MURRAY FOR RE-ELECTION

Charlestown, MA - Calling them the
right choice to move Massachusetts forward, Teamsters
Local 25 endorsed Governor Deval Patrick and Lt. Governor
Tim Murray last night at the organization's headquarters.
"Our Executive Board asked the
tough questions of the Governor and Lt. Governor," said
Sean M. O'Brien, President/Principal Officer of Teamsters
Local 25. "Our priority continues to be putting
our people back to work, and while we may not agree
on every decision made by this administration we believe
the Patrick-Murray team is the right choice for our
members, and for the Commonwealth."
“I
am proud to receive the endorsement of the Teamsters
Local 25," said Governor Deval Patrick. "Lt.
Governor Murray and I understand the toll this recession
has taken on working families across the Commonwealth.
Their anxieties about jobs is why we have invested
in job creation, not just talked about it, and as a
result we are now first in the nation in job growth.
It’s why we have invested in schools for their
kids and in health care, not just talked about it,
and as a result our students rank first in the nation
in student achievement and 400,000 more of our neighbors
have health security today. These are tangible results
for the people who now have a way forward, and hopeful
results for those who still need help. We have work
to do, and we welcome their partnership in getting
that work done."
"Anyone can govern during
good times, but it takes a strong leader to govern
during these challenging times. We believe that Governor
Patrick and Lt. Governor Murray are those leaders and
we look forward to working with them for the next four
years," continued O'Brien.
"I am very thankful
to receive the support of the Teamsters Local 25 in
this campaign," said Lt. Governor Murray. "This
campaign is all about jobs, and Governor Patrick and
I are doing everything in our power to create tens
of thousands of new jobs for working families in every
region of the state."
Senator Edward
M. Kennedy 1932-2009

“Senator Kennedy was Organized Labor’s most prolific advocate in
the U.S. Congress. He never relented when he was fighting for working people.
He fought for affordable healthcare, a minimum wage, workforce development
and fair trade in our country…he mirrored Labor’s vision for America.
He will be sorely missed!”
